To develop the skills of youth baseball players, helping them achieve their dreams of becoming professionals.
Play Pro Baseball is run by former professional Shortstop, Christian Lara, who focuses on the development of 8U-18U players through baseball camps, private & group instruction, and tournament play.
Through Play Pro Baseball, Coach Christian shares the same love for the game with his players, coaches, and parents that his Dad shared with him as his youth coach growing up in Venezuela. Coach Christian thrived on that passion in his own career, developing into a promising young Shortstop in the Red Sox and Dodgers organizations, where he earned multiple Minor League honors, including two Minor League Player of the Year Awards (2004 & 2006). It is this love for the game and wealth of knowledge that allow Coach Christian’s players to develop their own love and passion for baseball, in hopes of achieving their professional dreams.
Coach Christian’s true heart will always lie in the growth and development of his players. Play Pro Baseball opportunities exist at all skill levels, from development of players as young as 6-years-old, to 18-year-old professional prospects.

Play Pro Baseball underwent a fundamental change in July of 2024 when Coach Christian accepted a Minor League Player Development Position with the Washington Nationals! This is an amazing opportunity for him to rejoin a big league club and make an impact with players on a professional level. However, the schedule and travel requirements of this new endeavor demand more of Coach Christian’s attention than would allow him to run a full slate of youth club teams.
In going forward and in continuation of his love for youth player development, Coach Christian will run lessons and camps within his schedule availability. Additionally, he plans to field a tournament team on an approximate semi-monthly basis, as comprised of players from Play Pro Mexico (Chihuahua) and Play Pro USA.
